At Canyons Canine Training, our private dog training program focuses on both the dog and the human, offering coaching to build a strong relationship and effective communication. We emphasize loose leash walking, teaching both the dog and the owner how to walk together calmly and enjoyably. Off-leash recall training is a crucial and relationship based skill we work on, ensuring that your dog can return reliably around the distractions. Teaching your dog to regulate their energy and be calm and well-behaved in the home environment is another foundational skill we will work on. Additionally, we address any challenging behaviors by identifying the root causes and developing personalized strategies to effectively troubleshoot and improve them.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

• One hour training sessions take place at a variety of locations in the Salt Lake Valley from parks to dog-friendly shops or cafes, to my home or yours. If you are located 20 mi outside of my location, a $25 travel fee will apply.

Boarding School at Canyons Canine is a great choice for owners who need a heavy lift or want their dog to experience immersion training at my home. Throughout training, you will receive updates as well as meet for mid-program sessions. After training, you get to enjoy the results while continuing to maintain the foundation that was solidified. We will teach you how to get the behaviors as well as keep them up at home, while helping you set your dog up for future success post program by implementing a clear plan as your dog adjusts to the new routine.

Over the course of this immersive training, your dog will learn the skills needed to fit your lifestyle from calm in the home, polite greetings, relaxing walks, adventurous off leash or on leash hikes, appropriate play. Owners need support in how to have a calmer dog in the home, more comfortable leash walks, and off leash recall and we focus on these critical skills.

Your dog will learn behaviors like loose leash walking, recall, down, sit, and place, as well as build polite manners in the home. We will troubleshoot problem behaviors like leash reactivity, anxiety, or fearfulness, and build up confidence for your insecure dog.

WHAT WE DO:

• Daily active and passive training sessions at Andrea’s home with real life moments like how to handle the door bell, guests, being calm in the home, how to behave around food, and working with counter surfing and trash diving.

• Outings to work on generalizing the foundation they learn at a variety of locations like parks, dog friendly stores, cafes, farmers markets, and hikes.

• Socialization with Andrea’s balanced pack will offer skills in neutrality around other dogs as well as appropriate interactions, helping reactive dogs feel better.

WHAT’S INCLUDED:

• All necessary training tools, including a slip lead or training collar, long line, and mini educator.

• Virtual and in person coaching throughout your dog’s stay. You will come weekly for check in sessions to begin to learn along with your dog, building your confidence for when your dog is back with you.

• Post stay support: You will receive instructions to follow at home after your dog’s training stay which will set you and your dog up for success along with virtual support or 1:1 trouble shooting if needed on any behaviors your dog learned during their program.

• The investment in boarding school is $1200 per week with a minimum of 3 weeks for behavior modification.
